This program provides former students the opportunity to maintain the skills they learned at RS Rescue, and to develop themselves as extrication instructors at virtually no cost. Since this started in 2012, we have successfully developed several former students through this volunteer program into very skilled instructors and ultimately, rescue sector officers.

How do I become an Associate Instructor?

Students must first complete RS Rescue Rescue’s CPVR Technician Level AND HVR Technician Level. Once completed, you can request to be added to the Associate Instructor program. Eligible course dates will be posted to a protected area of the website available only to the exclusive list of Associates.  To which Associate Instructors will request course dates through the website, and will be placed on the course instructor roster in the order the requests are received.  Eligible AI’s will be contacted 3-4 weeks in advance of the request course dates to let them know if they are required or not.  Lunch and all PPE is provided with the exception safety footwear.

Once accepted into the program and selected to participate as an Associate Instructor, you may use the Lead Instructor, John O’Blenis, or any other member of the senior instruction team (with their permission) as a work reference.
